Why is the face mask dry and how does it activate with water?

The face mask is the most innovative product we offer. We wanted a product that contained both silk proteins, just like in nature: Fibroin composes the fabric of the mask, on which we apply our Sericin, the other protein that has these incredible hydrating, elasticizing and protective properties. Once the fabric comes into contact with water, the mask activates and the Fibroin nanofibers allow for a quick and efficient release of the Sericin, boosting its effects. Lastly, when we studied this product, we kept its functionality in mind: having a dry mask is much more convenient because there are no slippery liquids and it remains perfectly in contact with the skin.

What % of Sericin is present in your products?

Our products contain 0.3% of intact Sericin, meaning it is not degraded or hydrolyzed. Clinical trials demonstrated that this protein guarantees excellent results and is very effective at these concentration levels.

How is the Cleansing Gel used?

Take 1 or 2 doses of product and apply to dry skin. Wait 30 seconds, dampen your fingers and massage the gel on your face and neck: a very light foam will form. Rinse well and the skin will already be noticeably smoother.

Are IMERSA products Biological / Bio / Ecobio / organic / vegan / green?

No, IMERSA creates products in which science and nature coexist and where the natural properties of silk and Sericin (our products’ active ingredient) are enhanced and kept intact thanks to science.

Is the active ingredient at the core of IMERSA’s formula natural?

Yes, Sericin is one of the two proteins that compose silk.

Is it correct to say some ingredients of the formula are synthetic?

Yes, but the percentage of natural ingredients present in our products is:

Is the efficacy of IMERSA products demonstrated?

Yes, the IMERSA formula is clinically tested (ISPE attestation • Institute of Skin and Product Evaluation) on a sample size of 20 women over the course of 6 weeks.  They show statistically significant improvements in hydration (+35%), density (+12%) and skin elasticity (+15%) and a significant reduction in expression lines (-12%).

Is IMERSA cruelty-free?

Yes, by law the European Union has banned animal testing in cosmetics since 2013.

Does the IMERSA formula contain silicones?

Yes, but in extremely low percentages, used as “sensorial modifiers”: in other words, they make applying the products to the skin pleasant. A common fear around silicones is that they create an impermeable film that does not allow the skin to breathe. In reality, while silicones are indeed hydrophobic, the amounts present are so low and the silicone molecules so volatile that some time after applying our products the residual silicone molecules on the skin are practically null.

Which products are indicated for MATURE SKIN?

The IMERSA line is suitable for all skin types. Sericin is absorbed by the skin quickly and its hydrating effect lasts for many hours, because the water is released gradually. Moreover, thanks to its film-forming and protective characteristics, our Sericin protects the skin from external agents rendering it particularly relaxed, soft and smooth to the touch.

Clinical trials have demonstrated an excellent improvement in cutaneous hydration and elasticity, increasing its density and resulting in a significant reduction in expression lines.
